THE 17TH ANNUAL WHITE MOUNTAIN MILERS HALF MARATHON AND KIDS FUN RUN

Sunday October 27th, 2002     10 a.m. (Walkers 9 a.m.)

COURSE DESCRIPTION: The USATF certified 13.1 mile out and back course on scenic rural roads starts and finishes in front of the Eastern Slope Inn on Route 16, North Conway.  The course is fast with no big hills.  Course Record Holder: Male/Dave Dunham 1989 - 1:05:42 and Female/Julie Peterson1995 - 1:17:56.  Click here to see the Course Map.

ENTRY FEE: The $18 fee includes a race packet and post race
meal. Add $9 to receive a race packet, post race meal AND a long sleeved, custom designed, high performance Duofold VeriTECŪ fabric shirt. 
Showers are available after the race.

NUMBER PICK UP: Race packets may be picked up Saturday, October 26 from 4:30 to 6:30 at the Reverence for Life Building
on Route 16 in North Conway, adjacent to the First Congregational Church (see map). Race packets are available on race day from 7:30 - 9:15 AM off the Eastern Slope Inn Lobby.  Entrants must pick up their own numbers!

DIVISIONS: Male and Female Runners: Awards to top 3 overall
and then 3 deep in the following age groups - <18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, and 80+. Walkers: Awards to top 3 male and female overall.

WEIGHT DIVISIONS: New this year are optional Open and Masters
Clydesdale weight divisions for runners.
Men: 200lbs & over, Open & 40+
Women: 150lbs & over, Open & 40+
Awards to top male and female finishers in each category. Please note that a Clydesdale is not eligible for duplicate awards.

PASTA DINNER: Saturday, October 26, 5:00-7:30 PM at the First
Congregational Church on Route 16 in North Conway Village (see map). Price is $6 with pre-registration or $7 per person at the door. Entrants, families, volunteers and friends are welcome.

FREE KIDS' FUN RUN: Register at 12 noon at John Fuller School (no pre-registration). Open to kids up to age 12. Distances
run will vary by age. Parents MUST accompany child but need not be entered in the Half Marathon. Prizes for all.

FOOD AND AWARDS: Serving from 11:30 - 2:00 at the John Fuller School.  Cost is $3 per person for family members and
friends. All race entrants and volunteers eligible to win over $1000 in raffle prizes. Raffle winners drawn during the race and posted at the beginning of awards ceremony.

TIMING AND COURSE SUPPORTGranite State Race Services.  Runners and Walkers should plan to finish by 1:00 pm as clocks and course support, including ambulance service, will conclude at this time
